Homelessness has increased significantly among unsheltered populations and people experiencing chronic homelessness, according to a new report from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
HUD recently released the first part of its Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress, which found 580,466 people experienced homelessness in the United States on a single night in 2020.
“The findings of this report are very troubling,” HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge said.
