The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has filed a lawsuit against a Florida lender for allegedly engaging in deceptive acts or practices in taking deposits from and offering credit to consumers.
The lender, which offers short-term, high-interest loans to consumers funded by deposits made by other consumers, allegedly misrepresented the risks associated with its deposit product and the annual percentage rate for extensions of credit.
