The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has filed its first lawsuit under the new administration to send a message that financial scams targeting communities of color will not be tolerated.
The CFPB joined attorneys general in Virginia, Massachusetts and New York in suing Libre by Nexus, Inc., an immigration bond services company accused of a predatory scam that traps victims into paying expensive, long-term fees.
