Online lender OppLoans has appointed Stacee Hasenbalg to chief compliance officer.
Hasenbalg has held positions in banking and financial services for more than 20 years, including the role of associate general counsel, U.S. regulatory liaison at Bank of Montreal, and chief compliance officer at Avant.
At OppLoans, Hasenbalg will join the executive team leading the company's compliance and risk oversight function to ensure maximal transparency and efficiency as the firm delivers financing to underbanked consumers.

"Stacee Hasenbalg is a recognized authority in her field," said Jared Kaplan, CEO of OppLoans. "Her legal experience in financial services and unparalleled regulatory knowledge distinguish her. But most importantly, she believes in our mission as passionately as we do. Stacee will be a valuable leader at OppLoans as we cement our reputation as the best and most responsible home for non-traditional lending."
Hasenbalg added, "OppLoans has delivered socially responsible financial options to nearly 200,000 Americans who had nowhere else to turn. I am excited to contribute to the mission of providing much-needed credit to this underserved segment."
