The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has announced a settlement with short-term lenders accused of providing deceptive finance charge disclosures and engaging in unfair debt collection practices.
The companies offer payday and auto-title loans and own and operate about 156 stores in Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
