A class action lawsuit alleging a mortgage servicer charged borrowers for kickbacks it made to a title company in U.S. postage stamps is allowed to proceed in a Maryland federal court.
As a result of the scheme, the plaintiffs said they were overcharged for settlement services, and the payment of kickbacks was a patent violation of RESPA.
