A New Jersey couple submitted complaints to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) raising issues about their loan modification.
The couple later filed a federal suit, alleging RESPA was triggered by their correspondence to the CFPB and OCC. Their servicer asked that the complaint be dismissed on several counts.
