Lauren Gresh has joined Bricker & Eckler LLP in the law firm’s Employment & Labor group. With more than 17 years of broad legal experience, she will serve employer clients in the areas of benefits and pension plans, assisting with the design, qualification and administration of numerous tax-qualified plans, as well as complex pension arrangements.
Gresh comes to the firm from the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) where she served as assistant counsel, as associate counsel, and, most recently, as deputy general counsel for benefits since 2002. Providing in-house advisement to the million-member public pension fund, Lauren managed a team of attorneys and support staff on benefits administration topics; modernized health care trust and plans for ease of operation, Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance and tax reporting; and developed multi-phase policy initiatives.
Gresh also has experience in legislative strategy, lobbying and providing education to legislators and stakeholders. “We are honored to welcome Lauren – one of the state’s leading benefits attorneys – to our team,” said Bricker partner and employment and labor group chair, Jim Petrie. “Her vast experience with creating and managing many types of plans will certainly be valuable to both new and existing clients.” A graduate of Capital University Law School and The Ohio State University, Gresh is a long-time Columbus resident and highly involved in community service. She is a 20-year member of Ohio River Valley Elks Lodge, which was founded by her great-grandfather.
