The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) charged the owner of an apartment complex in Shawnee, Kan., and its property manager with violating the Fair Housing Act by refusing to allow a prospective tenant to live with an assistance animal.
HUD said the prospective tenant was a veteran with a mental health disability who lived with his assistance animal.
