Potential discrimination in mortgage lending, including the unlawful practice of redlining, was a key focus of investigation for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in 2019.
The bureau said it plans to continue to vigorously enforce fair lending laws throughout the pandemic, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, according to the agency’s eighth annual fair lending report.
