A Nevada borrower filed a lawsuit claiming his servicer violated RESPA by failing to notify him that it was transferring servicing of the loan to another company within the statutory time period.
The case stemmed from two companies’ attempts to enforce their purportedly unlawful interest in the borrower’s home after another lender allegedly forgave the debt in its entirety due to a discriminatory interest rate.
