Lower than usual mortgage rates led to an increase in pending home sales in the month of May, with three of the four major regions seeing a gain in contract activity.
Lawrence Yun, the National Association of Realtors’ (NAR) chief economist, attributed the spike in sales to interest rates of 4 percent and below.
