The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has filed a lawsuit claiming two large credit repair service companies violated the Telemarketing Sales Rule by requesting and receiving payment of prohibited upfront fees.
According to the suit, the companies also violated the TSR and the Consumer Financial Protection Act by making misleading marketing representations.
