The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has announced it will issue a notice of proposed rulemaking on debt collection to address issues ranging from communication practices to consumer disclosures.
The announcement was part of the bureau’s annual report to Congress on the administration of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and comes more than five years after the bureau originally issued a notice of proposed rulemaking on debt collection.
