The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), on Feb. 23, published a notice in the Federal Register seeking nominations to serve on its Consumer Advisory Board. According to the notice, the board will “advise and consult with the bureau in the exercise of the bureau’s functions under the Federal consumer financial protection laws, and will provide information to the bureau concerning emerging trends and practices in the financial services and products industry.”
The CFPB’s website indicates that the board is required under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
“We are looking for board members with diverse perspectives and innovative ideas,” the bureau said. “These nominees may have a background in one or more of the following areas: consumer protection, financial services, fair lending, civil rights, consumer financial products and services or community development.”
Individuals who are interested must submit a nomination letter and a resume/CV to [email protected]. The deadline for submission is March 30.
